ieexplorer exe 100 cpu

ieexplorer.exe 100% CPU

Seems like IE in Beta 2 has taken over my CPU when I try to start it. I can run Firefox just fine. Anyone else?

I was able to fix the problem. If anyone else have this same problem, uninstall Java and run adaware. Works fine now.

It's iexplore.exe no "R" and explorer.exe with an "R" btw Drew.
There ain't no seem to this--you need to do the usual to cut cpu and I see Vista box after Vista box with this symptom. Cut cpu demand the normal ways. Turn off services you don't need and processes you don't need. Vista defaults MCE processes that aren't needed if you aren't running MCE as an example. Don't post back that you have it. Use google to look up every process and service and there are several you don't know and end them. Defrag regularly sev times a week with a real defragger not the play toy watered down piece of junk that Vista has--just because it's got the MSFT logo on the start button sure as hell doesn't mean quality. Run spyware scanners--defender, adaware, spybot. Clean your temp and temp internet files frrequently. If you still have problem go to http://support.microsoft.com and look up clean boot troubleshooting.

Well, since Vista is very new and beta, how and what services would you know to turn off; they are somehwat different that XP's? I have already experienced some issues turning of one service (and it isn't listed as a service). I think the OP simply erred in spelling, not that he has a virus or spyware. If you had read these issues with Java in IE7 with Vista, many had issues similar to his, most was that IE7 wouldn't load a web page.
To get Java to work, I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it, and I have had no issues with IE7 since doing this (never was an issue with Firefox).

"how and what services would you know" and I also said to check out processes as well. Here's a guide of how to clean up, but it won't have Vista processes and service references yet:
Speed and Unfreeze PC and Clean Windows; Remove Spyware http://tinyurl.com/znqxh
***Search them in a search engine.*** MSFT has always done a poor job of explaing them via "Select an item to view it's description." Many of the descriptions are just parotting the name of the service and do a horrendous job of explaining it. I'll be on the lookout for some Vista service lists. Use google or something else meanwhile.
" I have already experienced some issues turning of one service (and it isn't listed as a service..."
Tells us nothing Tom. Be more explicit. Which issues and what service that's "not listed as a service"
It never helps to know "issues similar" when the OP doesn't or someone else doesn't state the issues. You can waste a lifetime guessing.

Your link references XP, not Vista. Though some of services in Vista are still the same as XP's, there are quite a few that are different. As far as the service I mentioned (misnomer on my part), it is something that starts up with Windows that can only be turned off by resetting some security features (you can look around and test for yourself); I don't want to give some who may be more curious than needed, to know how to do this and (possibly) cause a more serious issue.
In any case, you didn't address the OP's concern with Java, you generalized spyware and virus' as the issue. Had you read through these messages you would have seen them. I already stated what I did to stop my issue with Java; the mileage may vary with others with the method I chose.

You might as well tell the inexperienced how to do it. They can't do much worse than they already are, IMHO. Anyway, all one needs to start with is to call the System Utility tool with "msconfig" in Start Search and learn from there by setting up a clean boot.

And what I am speaking about is not listed in 'msconfig', either in startup or under the 'services' tab there; it is system run. I looked in all the usual places before doing what I did, and it actually prevented me from showing my network status (as one effect) when I went under it to disable it. I am fairly decent with Windows, and I do a lot with it, I just thought Chad's first response was more reaction to the usual XP type problem post when someone has a similar issue, but we all know this isn't XP. Anyway, nuff said, if you want to find it, open task manger, and break down what is running there, and what you will not find in 'msconfig' and in 'services.msc'. :-)

"Your link references XP, not Vista. Though some of services in Vista are still the same as XP's, there are quite a few that are different."
I know--it's been around for more than 10 months and I've been using it. One of the first things I did when I got Vista was to use a search engine to nail the services and the processes in task manager I couldn't identify. Why have yuo been sitting on your hands and not done this Tom? You're a big boy and you have the web and access to search engines--use them. My link is one of the few to start posting Vista books. Those have information that MSFT refuses to provide you and the link hasn't updated for Vista yet because information needed is being witheld because MSFT is not getting off its lazy ass and publishing it. 3rd party books are putting out more info than MSFT is on major components of Vista. Beta testers are being denied key information that TAP testers are getting.
This sentence below makes no coherent sense in English: What service are you talking about? This sentence is double-talk. This is the most eggregious crap sentence I've seen by someone asking for help in months. Someone posted about not dissing the helpees--the same goes for the helpers.
" As far as the service I mentioned (misnomer on my part), it is something that starts up with Windows that can only be turned off by resetting some security features (you can look around and test for yourself); I don't want to give some who may be more curious than needed, to know how to do this and (possibly) cause a more serious issue."
That's simply not coherent. You can't expect us to help you with a purported entity you call a service that's causing trouble if you won't name it. If you're into "Jeapordy" it's on TV several stations. I don't have to address the OP's concern with Java because Java has not a damn thing to do with how Vista runs or doesn't run well. I didn't generalize anything as the cause of the problems. I just recommended logical steps. I don't have a Windows box that isn't running well because I follow them.
It takes a few tenths of a second to find a service guide or to google for services or processes you don't know --a lot less time than it did for you to construct sentences of total jibberish.

additional services are in Beta 2 or RC1 or RC2 than google por ise a searchj engine even MSN accordingly.
